Taking the first step towards counselling can be daunting, but I'm here to make the process as comfortable as possible.
When you reach out for an initial consultation, we'll schedule a free 15-minute call to discuss your needs, expectations, and concerns. This call allows you to get a sense of who I am and how I work, helping to identify if we are the right fit for each other.
During our conversation, Together, we will explore how counselling can help you navigate the challenges you're facing. If you feel comfortable moving forward after our initial call, we'll schedule your first counselling session at a mutually convenient time, either in-person in Barnet or online. Remember, taking that first step shows courage, strength, and a commitment to your own well-being. I'm here to support you every step of the way.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches to create a tailored, personalised treatment plan that best suits your unique needs and goals. I believe that every individual is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. That's why I adapt my approach to ensure that you receive the most effective support possible.
Integrative counselling allows me to combine elements from various therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-focused Brief Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Transactional Analysis. By drawing upon these different approaches, I can help you address your challenges from multiple perspectives, providing a comprehensive and holistic approach to your well-being.
A Path to Healing from Trauma.
Rewind Therapy, also known as the Visual/Kinesthetic Dissociation (V/KD) technique, is a gentle and effective approach to helping individuals overcome the distressing effects of trauma. If you've experienced a traumatic event that continues to impact your daily life, Rewind Therapy may be a powerful tool in your healing journey.
How does it work? The therapy involves guiding you through a process of dissociation, where you'll be asked to visualise the traumatic event from a safe, detached perspective. By "rewinding" and "fast-forwarding" through the memory in a controlled, dissociated state, your brain can process the event without being overwhelmed by the emotional intensity associated with it.
This process helps to reduce the emotional charge connected to the traumatic memory, allowing you to feel more in control and less distressed when thinking about the event. Over time, Rewind Therapy can help alleviate symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, and intense emotional reactions triggered by reminders of the trauma.
One of the key benefits of Rewind Therapy is that it doesn't require you to disclose detailed information about the traumatic event. The focus is on your visual and emotional experience rather than the narrative of what happened, making it a comfortable and safe option for those who may find it difficult to talk about their trauma.
If you're struggling with the aftermath of a traumatic experience, Rewind Therapy may offer a path to healing and recovery. As a trained Rewind Therapist, I'm here to support you through this process, helping you find relief from the distressing symptoms of trauma and reclaim a sense of peace and well-being in your life.
